Just eight miles north of Asheville in Buncombe County, Weaverville has that "main street" small town atmosphere. Living in Weaverville reminds one of stepping back in the past with neighbors waving and stopping to chat as you pass by which are all part of its hometown charm.
Weaverville is located at the mouth of Reem's Creek valley - one of the first areas to be settled in Western North Carolina. The town became known in the mid 1800's as a destination for folks to escape the heat of the summer from the lowlands of South. Many flocked here from across the nation for its grand hotels, Weaverville College (now Brevard College) and the famous Camp Sequoya for boys.
Those days are gone but with its scenic valleys, quaint shops and galleries, wonderful restaurants and world class B&B's, Weaverville's reputation for a destination remains strong.
The focal point of the town is Lake Louise which is surrounded by a nice park and walking paths. The town has many quiet neighborhoods and even has a wonderful golf course community with luxury homes. Weaverville boasts quality schools and excellent community services.
