East Asheville

Tunnel Road, named after the Beaucatcher Tunnel it travels through from downtown Asheville, is the main road through East Asheville.  Many stores and restaurants along with the Asheville Mall are located on Tunnel Road, and just beyond this busy shopping area are East Asheville communities.

There are a variety of homes in East Asheville ranging from suburban ranchers to original arts and crafts bungalows, to larger traditionals and contemporary styles.  East Asheville’s proximity to downtown and shopping as well as its easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway make it particularly attractive to those who enjoy both city amenities and outdoor adventures.

East Asheville is also home to the popular WNC Nature Center which houses animals indigenous to our area.  Both old and young alike will be delighted to see bear, deer, otters, wolves, bobcats, reptiles, etc. in natural surroundings.  There's also a petting area with a variety of farm animals.

East Asheville neighborhoods include Oteen, Oakley, Haw Creek, Chunn’s Cove, Reynolds and Beverly Hills (near the Asheville municipal golf course).
