Black Mountain/Swannanoa 

Known as the "front porch of Western North Carolina", Black Mountain, NC is located about 15 miles east of Asheville in Buncombe County with Swannanoa being located just Five miles east.  

Black Mountain is a charming small town set at the base of the tallest mountains east of the Mississippi River. An eclectic variety of shops, cafes and inns have long attracted vacationers and tourists year-round. Recreational facilities include a golf course and Lake Tomahawk park.  Black Mountain is also home to a very active arts community whose creations are featured in multiple galleries around town. Older neighborhoods and newer residential developments offer a range of housing options.

Swannanoa is a community once anchored in textile manufacturing with Beacon Textile Manufacturing establishing itself here in the early 1900's.  Swannanoa is now known as the home to Warren Wilson College, a small college emphasizing a combination of work and services with academics.  Summertime brings the Swannanoa Gathering, a multi-discipline traditional music program offering workshops, concerts and dances, with a staff of the finest in the folk arts from around the world.
